Kurdistan Lawyers Syndicates Final Election
Results
On August 5, 2007, the election high committee of
Kurdistan lawyers syndicate announced its final
election results. “The committee announced its final
election results in which Kaka Rash Naqshbandi
elected as the head of syndicate. Ten lawyers were
elected as members of the syndicate and three
members became reserve members so that they will
substitute permanent ones.” Said Blnd Mahmud, a
member of Hawler election committee. “1309 lawyers
took part in the ballot throughout the region, the
city branchs election was scheduled to be held as
well.” He added.
Taihsin Kahia: Implementation of Article 140 will
return the Turkmen People Rights
Concerning the implementation of Article 140 and
normalization Kirkuk city, Taihsin Kahia, the member
of Governorate Council on Turkmen List and the
member of the Article 140 committee told Kurdistani
Nwe that the rights of Turkmen people in Kirkuk will
return by implementing Article 140.
He also said that the Turkmen representatives have
different attitudes about Article 140 and it is
normal if a Turkman rejects Article 140. He also
declared that they have suggested to the Article 140
Committee for carrying out the Turkmen people rights
in Kirkuk as any other nation in Iraq.
U.S. Organization Offers Training for Kurdistan
Teachers
An organization, specialized in educational affairs
will organize training courses for 7,000 primary
school teachers in Iraq's Kurdistan region, starting
with the beginning of the next scholastic year; the
Kurdistan Education Ministry said.The U.S. Geo
Project organization specialized in education and
teaching issues will hold three-month-long training
courses at the beginning of the scholastic year
2007-2008 in the provinces of Erbil, Duhok and
Sulaimaniyah, for 7,000 teachers,” the ministry
said.
The statement added “the courses include lectures on
teaching methods for mathematics and science for the
first, second and third years of primary schools.”
“The aim of holding such courses is to acquaint the
participants with modern methods for teaching.” It
pointed out that the organization’s office in
Lebanon will carry out these courses.
Working in Bazian Oil Refinery Project Goes on
Slowly
As its destiny is unknown, working in Bazian oil
refinery project is going on slowly and improperly.
“Previously the Iraqi federal government was
carrying out the project, but currently there is
propaganda, saying the budget for completing the
project to be allocated by KRG.” Ahmed Arif, media
chairman of Private Projects of Oil told Aso
newspaper on August 6th. Answering a question of
works on that project currently reached what stage;
he said that% 30-35 of its technical works has been
completed ,but more should have been done .However
,until its destiny not to be identified working on
it will not go on actively. " I can not tell the
finishing date of the project ,because its destiny
to be settled who will fulfill the project.” Arif
said concerning the time table of finishing the
project
Sulaimaniyah Security Arrested another Terrorist
After the Sulaimaniyah Security was informed that a
terrorist ran away from Baquba, the Sulaimaniyah
Security arrested the terrorist who is from the so
called Islamic State. Sulaimaniyah Security declared
that they arrested a terrorist called Hassan Falah
Salah who is 31 years old, from Baquba and a member
of Iraqi Islamic State. A source in Sulaimania
Security told PUKmedia that after they had arrested
the terrorist, he admitted several crimes that he
committed before his capture including:
-Assassination of Khalid Al-Dosh, the member of
Municipality Council of Al-Abara Town at Dyalla
-Participating in Slaughtering a soldier from the
Iraqi National Guard Forces. -Assassinating a
General called Alaa Hassan Ali in Baquba and several
other terrorist acts.
3 burglary, forgery gangs arrested in Erbil (VOI)
Erbil-Hewler, – Three gangs of burglary and forgery
were arrested in Arbil, the Kurdish city's police
chief said on Sunday. "The arrest followed several
reports by residents about the breaking and entering
of their homes during the past couple of months,"
Brig. Abdul-Khaleq Talaat said in a press conference
on with Col. Herish Ahmed Muhammad, chief of the
Erbil anti-theft department.
"A burglary gang of three was arrested and they
confessed to breaking and entering 21 houses in
Erbil," said Talaat. This gang, he said, also stole
three vehicles, an amount of gold and 280,000 U.S.
dollars, which were all given back to their owners.
Talaat pointed out that all the crimes were
committed during the official holidays when
residents go to tourist sites.
"Another burglary gang was arrested in Binsalawa
compound, 4 km east of Erbil," he said, not
mentioning the number of members of this gang. He
did not either say when the two gangs were arrested.
Muhammad, on the other hand, said that a gang of two
that counterfeits driving licenses was arrested,
adding "the gang was active not only in Iraq's
Kurdistan region but also in other Iraqi provinces."
Erbil, the capital of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, is
380 km north of Baghdad.
President Talabani in a joint Press Conference
with Al-Maliki
Jalal Talabani, Iraqi President in joint press
conference with Nuri Al-Maliki, Iraqi Prime Minister
declared that Nuri Maliki didn’t accept the
resignations of Iraqi Accordance Front’s
Ministers.Iraqi President also said that in his
meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister, they confirmed on
4 points which are:
strengthen National Union Government headed by Nuri
Al-Maliki, committing by those political programs
which were decided on before, committing by Iraqi
President and Iraqi Prime Minister’s agreements
about the authority, and examine about the Iraqi
Accordance Front’s requests.
Concerning this a media source in Ministry Council
said that later the reasons for not accepting the
resignation of Accordance Front’s ministers will
come out in a report of Prime Minister’s office.
