Sulaimaniyah Security Director Denies News of
Existence of Mujahdin in Sulaimaniyah city
Brigadier Hassan Nouri, director of Sulaimaniyah
security denied news of local "hawlati" newspaper
saying that allegedly the Iranian Mujahdin group
opened office in Sulaimaniyah city.
"The news is baseless and the purpose behind is it
to harm the national security of our nation because
as our relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran
improves and border gates has been opened they
fabricated such baseless news, therefore, we deny
the news." said Brigadier Hassan Nouri, asking
Medias not to release baseless news.
Narmin Osman: A Step will be taken about Article
140
Narmin Osman, the deputy of the head of 140 Article
Committee declared that they are to hold a meeting
next week. She also said that Nuri Al-Maliki, the
Iraqi PM, via a letter to the Planning Ministry
asked to know the reasons that are behind the delay
of caring out the second step of 140 Article.
Concerning Dr. Raeid Fahimi who became the head of
the committee, she said that he is an independent
person and he is adequate to be the head of the
Committee.
Dindar Zebari Visits Geneva and Meets with the
five Permanent Members of Security Council
Mr.Dindar Zebari, KRG Coordinator in UN, visited
Geneva on Thursday, August 2, and was received by
Mr.Falrivi Loshnin, permanent representative of
federal Russia at UN and the other international
organizations.
KRG Coordinator in UN met with the chairmen of the
basic UN agencies, diplomatic personalities, and
with the five
Permanent Members of Security Council.
During a meeting KRG Coordinator in UN shed light on
the significant progress of Kurdistan region in
aspects of political, economical boost, stability of
Kurdistan region as compared to the other Iraqi
parts.
During another part of the meeting they discussed
the process of mending the Iraqi constitution and
the national reconciliation process and the regional
gatherings which are related to the disputed areas
like Kirkuk.
During the meeting KRG Coordinator in UN also asked
the Representative of Federal Russia at UN and the
other permanent members to cooperate in increasing
the role of UN in supporting the Iraqi political and
reconstruction processes, asking the representative
of federal Russia at UN to cooperate the area
economically and to support the Iraqi political
process and the federalism system of Iraq which had
been decided in 2005 Iraq’s constitution.
Kurdistan Region Parliament Ratified Several
other Articles from the Petroleum Draft Law
For the third day on Thursday, August 3, Kurdistan
Region Parliament went on discussions on the oil and
gas draft law chaired by Mr. Adnan Mufty, the
speaker of parliament. At the beginning of the
session, article 13 of the draft was discussed which
is about Kurdistan company for extraction and
exportation of oil and gas affairs, and was ratified
unanimously.
Article 14 of the draft was about the foundation of
Kurdistan Company for oil refining and its
subordinators (KODO), after discussing it wholly it
has been ratified unanimously. Article 15 of the
same draft also has been voted which is about
foundation of Kurdistan bank of oil recourses
.Article 16 which is about the tasks of the bank and
article 17 which puts all the works of the bank
under the supervision of Kurdistan Region Parliament
also has been voted.
Next the seventh chapter of the draft was discussed,
including articles of 18, 19, 20 which describes the
cooperation between the Iraqi federal government and
the duties of KRG, and the agreements between the
KRG and the Iraqi federal government for setting up
a strategic policy for developing the oil recourses
and cooperation with the (the federal council of oil
and gas) which will be formed according to an
agreement with KRG for signing the contracts. After
more discussions the articles of (19, 18, 19, 20)
they have been ratified as well.
After voting on article 20 ,which is on distribution
of the lands, of the draft law of petroleum in
Kurdistan region the speaker of parliament decided
to end the session and adjourned it to Saturday
august 4th.
