Kurdish Student hunger strike in solidarity with the two Kurdish journalists sentenced to death in Iran  6.8.2007

Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan region (Iraq), --A new wave of hunger strikes was announced in southern Kurdistan, Erbil-Hawler, capital city of Iraqi Kurdistan region.

Dozens of Kurdish students from all over Kurdistan started their hunger strike on Saturday in front of the Kurdish NUJ in the city of Hawler, southern Kurdistan*.

The hunger strikers are students from southern Kurdistan*, northern Kurdistan*, eastern Kurdistan* and western Kurdistan*.

The purpose of this strike is the solidarity of the Kurdish nation with the two journalists, who were sentenced to death by the Iranian totalitarian regime in eastern Kurdistan (Iranian Kurdistan).

The strike will last for three days.

* Southern Kurdistan: Iraqi Kurdistan (Northern Iraq)
* Northern Kurdistan: Turkey Kurdistan (Southeastern Turkey + Parts of Armenia)
* Eastern Kurdistan: Iranian Kurdistan (Northwestern Iran)
* Western Kurdistan: Syrian Kurdistan (Northern Syria)
