Baghdad, -- Member of the Parliament from the
Kurdistan Coalition said on Friday that the Turkish
interference in northern Iraq will top Prime
Minister Nouri al-Maliki's talks with Turkish
officials during his expected visit to Ankara next
week.
"Iraq's neighboring countries are part of the
political equation in Iraq be it for the positive or
negative," Abdul Khaleq Zangana said.
The Kurdish legislator who accused Turkey of
interfering in Iraq's affairs said "We hope more
transparency and realism in dealing with Iraq's
problems during the visit." A cabinet media source
said yesterday that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki
will lead a governmental delegation to Turkey next
week to discuss several issues with Turkish
officials.
"Al-Maliki will discuss with Turkish officials
issues of mutual concern, including the amassment of
Turkish troops along the Iraqi Kurdistan borders,
the activities of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK)
in northern Iraq, security and trade cooperation and
ways to foster relations between the two countries,"
the source said.
According to the source, the delegation will include
several Iraqi parliamentarians and governmental and
security officials.
