14 arrested for sneaking into Turkish territories

Zakho, - Fourteen persons were arrested by the
security border forces in Zakho, Duhok province, on
Monday, while trying to infiltrate into Turkish
territories, a security source said. "Fourteen
civilians were captured at 7:00 pm on Monday near
Iraq's Kurdistan borders with Turkey while trying to
enter Turkish territories illegally," Lt. Colonel
Delir Farzanda Zibari, the official in charge of a
border guards unit in Dirbon, Zakho, said.
"The persons were arrested near to the Iraqi-Turkish
borders at 7:00 pm," he added. "Those arrested were
local residents of Shikhan and Sinjar regions in
Mosul," Zebari also said, noting they admitted that
they were trying to enter Turkey illegally and each
one of them paid USD 300-400 to smugglers to reach
Turkey. Zebari said "the age of the detained people
was less than 30." Border guard forces in Duhok
arrested more than 400 people during the past six
months in different parts near to the Iraqi-Turkish
borders for attempting to sneak into Turkey. Most of
them are young men from different parts of Kurdistan
and Iraq. Duhuk is the third province within Iraq's
Kurdistan region. It has borders with Turkey in the
north and with Syria in the west.
New Chairman for Article 140 Committee
A private source in Kirkuk city said on Tuesday,
July 31, that according to official sources from the
Iraqi Government the Iraqi Council of Ministers
decided to appoint Bsim Raed as a new chairman for
the committee of implementing article 140 of the
Iraqi permanent constitution. A member from the
above –mentioned committee asserted the news to our
web site, indicating that the new chairman is a
former cadre in the Iraqi Communist Party.
The former chief of the committee, Hashim al-Shibly,
resigned from his post as the head of the committee
of implementing article 140.Mr. al-Shibly had
already resigned from the post of Minister of
Justice in the Iraqi Government.
Kurdistan Region: Helicopters will be Provided
for Transferring People among the Cities
On July 30, Burhan Saed Sofi, KRG minister of
transport, received a delegation of Greek Normasa
Company.
In the visit, which was attended by the Kurdistan
Region representative; they discussed transportation
in Kurdistan Region, concerning this Transport
minister asked the company to provide some
Helicopters in debt to Kurdistan for transferring
people among the cities and develop transferring
services in Kurdistan.It is worth mentioning that
Normasa Company is working in the fields of
reconstructions and Air transporting by using
Helicopters.
Selling Kurdistani Carpets for US
KRG Culture Minister Mr. Falak El-Din Kakaie
received Lieutenant Colonel Chris Burker in charge
of the military and civilian US army in Kurdistan
Region. The delegation made a contract with the
Minister of Culture to buy Kurdistani carpets for
US.
This was considered the 1st project for the ministry
to improve the handicraft of carpets factories in
Kurdistan Region where there are 412 workers working
in 7 factories belong to the ministry.
It’s worth mentioning that Americans imported
carpets from Turkey, Iran, India and Kenya and this
project will transfer the Kurdish culture to
American people.
Kurdistan President received Nawshirwan Mustafa
President Barzani received the Kurdish Politician
Nawshirwan Mustafa in Salahadin. In the meeting
President Barzani expressed his happiness for his
visit and they discussed the political issues of
Kurdistan Region. Nawshirwan Mustafa appreciated the
KRG President’s receiving.
The Accordance Front Withdraws from Government
On July 31, accordance front’s permission will
finished, so the Iraqi president with his two
deputies and Kurdistan Region president will
intensify their efforts to find suitable solutions
for the problems.
According to the memorandum by Accordance front,
today they will announce their withdrawal from the
government if their demands will not met.
Today, President Talabani is to meet with his
deputies, Dr. tariq Al-Hashmi and Dr. Adil
Abdulmahdi to discus solutions.
Dr. Tariq Al-Hashmi, general secretary of Islamic
party and member of Accordance Front, is to discuss
with President Talabani the extending of their
permission to withdraw from the government. The
accordance front has 6 ministers in Maliki’s
government and is the third block after Shiite
coalition and Kurdistan alliance and also has 44
chairs. On the other hand, Massoud Barzani,
Kurdistan Region’s president will attend the meeting
for the same issue.
