17 Percent of the Scholarships in US Universities
for Kurdistan Region 7
In a press conference held yesterday at KRG Ministry
of Planning in Erbil-Hewler, it was declared that on
the dedication of 100 7scholarships at the American
Universities in Humanity Development Fields for Iraq
and 17 seats will be Kurdistan Region’s share.
The conference was attended by Mr. Othman Shwani
Minister of Planning, Consul Ges Deli, officials of
American consulate in Irbil and Dr. Abdul Jabbar the
USAID development director.
18 Dams will be constructed in Kirkuk Territories
For future rehabilitation of the librated areas of
Kirkuk city, the Kirkuk water resources directorate
which belongs to the Iraq ministry of water
resources plans to build 18 dams for collecting the
water of floods and the springs in the area.
Regarding that, Shahab Hakim Nadir, director of
Kirkuk water resources office told Kurdistani Nwe
“These dams will be located in the territories of
Kirkuk in Shwan, Qarahasan, Qarahanjeer districts
particularly in these areas where there are small
rivers, most of these dams have gained. “These dams
will serve the areas in some aspects, including;
well increasing, waters, cleaning the environment,
and they will be a tourism site for the local
citizens.” He added.
The PUK Leadership Ratified the Strategic
Agreement Between PUK and KDP
PUK Leadership held on Sunday a meeting in
Sulaimaniyah supervised by Jalal Talabani, the
general secretary of PUK .During the meeting the
strategic agreement between PUK and KDP, which
signed by Mam Jalal and Massoud Barzani ,has been
discussed ,ratified and described as essential and
important for this critical stage.
In this regard, Mam Jalal presented the basic
recommendations to the attendance to be implemented
by all the PUK members in all levels. The importance
of this comprehensive political agreement, which
aims at strengthening the common efforts in all
aspects, especially defending the achievements of
Kurdish people and the political process in Iraq,
also to activate the government, parliament, and the
institutions of civil society.
One of the important goals of this agreement is to
improvement, empowering the works of KRG and to
revive the political, economic and social situations
in Kurdistan.
The meeting also shed light on the latest
development in Iraq .In this regard Mam Jalal
explained in details the current situations and
future plans, the attendance presented their ideas
and suggestions concerning the situations. The
meeting confirmed the positive role of Kurdistani
Leadership in its attempts to succeed the Iraqi
political process and to overcome the hurdles and
problems it faces .The attendance also stressed on
the moderate position of PUK and KDP and other
Kurdistani parties and the Kurdish Alliance in Iraq.
The meeting discussed the latest developments
concerning forming The Iraqi Moderate Front.
The First Lady of Iraq and Parliament President
congratulated Iraqi Players
The First Lady of Iraq, Miss Hro Talabani
congratulated the Iraqi players on their historical
victory over KSA and won the Asian Cup for first
time in Iraq’s history.
In another side Adnan Mufti, Parliament President
congratulated the Iraqi National team and described
the players as lions. He hoped this victory become a
motive to strengthen the relations between all the
different nations of Iraq.
Thousands of Kurds Gather by Hawar Mala Mohammad
House
As part of the ceremonies which Kurdistan region
cities is witnessing, Thousands of Kurds gathered
immediately after the final match between Iraq and
Saudi by Hawar Mala Mohammad house in Rania city in
Sulaimaniyah governorate to express their joy and
pride for their Kurdish hero who made the only goal
possible.
People raised the pictures of Hawar Mala Mohammad,
the celebrations are still on. On this occasion,
Mala Mohammad Hawar’s father said that this victory
is a victory for all Iraqis and for Kurdistan.
Seizing of Iranian Goods in Sharaban
Eyewitnesses from Sharaban said that so called Iraqi
Islamic State gangs roved through the markets of the
city to inform the shop owners to stop dealing with
Iranian goods as an order from their (Ministry of
Trade).And according to these witnesses, these gangs
had seized large amounts of Iranian goods.
