Ibrahim Jafari arrived in Sulaimaniyah
Sulaimaniyah, July 23, Ibrahim Jafari, the ex-Prime
Minister of Iraq arrived at the Sulaimaniyah
International Airport and he was received by Mala
Bakhtyar, the member of PUK Polit-Bureau and several
other members of PUK Polit-Bureau. In a press
conference he said that the main reason of his visit
was to strengthen their ties with PUK.
Conserning Article 140 he said that they support
that article and it should be implemented as it is.
It is worth mentioning that KRG Prime Minister
invited Ibrahim Jafari to Kurdistan and he met the
Prime minister, the Parliament President and several
KRG officials.
Adnan Mufti Meets with the Dean of Kurdistan
Journalists Syndicate
Adnan Mufti, the speaker of Kurdistan Region
Parliament, received Farhad Awni, the dean of
Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate and his deputy
Mustafa Salih Karim, on July the 23rd.
During a meeting, attended by Tariq Sarsam, media
consultative in Kurdistan Parliament, journalism
situation in Kurdistan region in general, draft law
of journalism and draft law of journalists’
retirement were discussed.
Regarding these issues the dean of Kurdistan
journalists syndicate presented a summary of their
participation in world journalists’ conference,
demanding the Kurdistan Region Parliament the draft
law of journalism in Kurdistan to be passed soon.
The speaker of parliament expressed his support for
the syndicate’s efforts and stated that the draft
law has been sent to KRG for discussing it several
months ago ,promising them that after the draft law
being returned to the parliament, it will be put in
the Kurdistan Region’s agenda and will be voted on.
Kurdistan Alliance Asked Ankara to Respect Iraq’s
Sovereignty
Kurdistan alliance bloc in Iraqi parliament called
Turkey to respect Iraq’s sovereignty after Ankara
has been threatening to carry out a military
operation if the triple committee conversations
can’t solve the problem.
”Turkey should respect Iraq as a sovereign country
having a democracy and respect Iraqi citizens will”,
said Abdul Bari Zebari, the Kurdistan Alliance
representative in Iraqi parliament.
The Kurdish Yezides present a Document to
Parliament
For the sake of integrating the Arabized Kurdish
cities and towns into KRG, the Kurdish Yezidies
presented a document to Kurdistan Parliament. They
demanded the integrating of those cities and town
into Kurdistan regiona KRG
South Korean Delegation Arrived Kurdistan
KRG Minister of Water Recourses, Tahsin Kadir
jointly with the delegation of (Kurdish-Korean)
company, including representatives of 14 South
Korean companies, held a press conference at the
ministry’s hall on July 22nd.
At first KRG Minister of Water Recourses presented a
speech and said that the South Korean Government and
Zaytun Team played a major role in reconstruction of
Kurdistan and liberation of Iraq from tyranny.
“Kurdistan is water -rich country, but we were not
able to benefit and control it completely, so we
have a long term plan with the help of our friends
to fulfill. Particularly the hydropower projects,
also we can benefit from Kurdistan fresh water for
mineral water projects, therefore, we prefer those
Korean companies also invest in water projects”, Mr.
Tahsin Kadir
said.
30 Kurdish Children will be transferred to Italy
for Heart Surgery
"On July 22, The Italian Company, Hevy in
collaboration with KRG Health Ministry will transfer
30 Kurdish children who have heart diseases to Italy
for treatment," a close source in KRG Health
Ministry said. The source also said that every child
will accompany one relative and two doctors from
Health Ministry to Jordan. It is worth mentioning
that until now Hevy Company in collaboration with
sent 140 Kurdish children to Italy for treatment.
President Talabani Criticizes West Medias
On July 22, in his office in Baghdad, President
Talabani received a Foreigner Cultural delegation
that consisted of Dr. Antony Kurdsman, the famous
writer and researcher of International Research and
Investigating center, Dr. Kinis BOlak, and Dr.
Michael Ohanlon in Strategic studies center.
In an open conversation, President Talabani
explained briefly some points about Iraqi situation
in the Field of Political, economy, security, and
socially aspects. Then he discussed the importance
of Media in transferring the realities in Iraq and
said: Unfortunately we see that West and American
Medias do not pay attention about the positive sides
and these achievements which were obtained after
Iraq liberty from the Dictatorship, but they just
care about the negative sides. Then President
Talabani talked about the reality to the participant
guests and explained the great gains in Kurdistan
region and the peaceful areas south of political,
security, reconstruction, and services. And asked
American Media to pay more attention about these
aspects. Talabani focused on the importance of joint
presidency in running country and the necessity of
developing the national unity and confirming
correspondence and participating to all effective
parties, the attempt of the political fractions in
establishing an Iraqi national moderate front that
believe in Political and democratic process in
Iraq...
Mala Bakhtyar Received the Deputy of General
British Consul
Mala Bakhtyar, the member of PUK Political Bureau
received on Monday Emely Maltman, the deputy of
General British Consul in northern Iraq and
Kurdistan Region.
In their meeting they discussed political issues in
Iraq and Kurdistan. Also they talked about Human
Rights Watch's report that dealt with the Kurdistan
Security; Mala Bakhtyar said that they will hold
those responsible who did that. On the other side
the deputy of General British Consulate appreciated
PUK for their helpings and their support.
Trucks banned from moving inside Kirkuk city for
fears of bombings ( VOI)
Kirkuk, – Local authorities in the northern Iraqi
city of Kirkuk decided on Sunday to ban the entry of
lorries and other cargo vehicles into the city as
new large parks were set up for such vehicles in a
move aiming at minimizing truck and car bombings
after three bombings ripped through the city last
week leaving 248 casualties, an official source from
the Kirkuk said.
"Kirkuk governor, Abdul Rahman Mustafa, reviewed in
a meeting with the security forces chiefs in the
city the security measures taken there and means to
enhance them after the car bombings that hit the
city lately," the source, who preferred his named
not to mentioned, said
The source added "during the meeting, a decision to
ban the movement of lorries and other trucks was
taken and special parking lots were allocated for
them at the outlets of Kirkuk for fear of using them
in bombing attacks."
He pointed out that trucks belonging to governmental
departments were exempted from the ban. The city of
Kirkuk witnessed last Monday three car bombings that
resulted in more 248 casualties.
The meeting also decided to tighten the procedure in
police checkpoints and opening extra lanes in them
to search the cars entering the city properly, he
added.
