Ibrahim Jafari Arrives Kurdistan Region

On July 21st, Ibrahim Jafari, Iraqi ex-prime minister, arrived at Erbil International Airport and was received by Dr. Fuad Hussein, head of Kurdistan Region Presidency Office, and Karim Sinjari, Minster of Region for Internal Affairs.
During a news conference concerning the aim of his visit, Jafari said: “I am glad to be here upon Kurdistan PM invitation". During my visit we will discuss all those issues that are of great importance for Kurdistan Region and Iraq to reach an agreement about those negotiations which are currently going on in Baghdad.

Ibrahim Jafari also talked about his historic relations with Kurdistan Region Political Leadership since the Iraqi opposition era.

US troops withdrawal would trigger disasters

The Iraqi deputy Prime Minister Dr. Barham Saleh in a video conference said that it is time to determine the future of the US troops in Iraq clearly. He also declared that building Iraq Security Forces would take a long time. “If the US forces leave Iraq before the Iraqi Forces have a hold over the security that would lead to a disaster in Iraq and in the region,” he added.

The Iraqi deputy Prime Minister submitted an interim report to the UN as to the International Pact that determines specific steps to the Iraqi government to take in counterpart of reducing the debts. In the meantime, UN Deputy Secretary General Ibrahim Jambari clarified that the report showed that Iraq government is achieving some progress on the security level.

PUK Cadres Institute Opened in Erbil

In attendance of Dr. Arsalan Baiz, head of PUK Organizational Office, Baker Mustafa head of PUK Erbil Third Organizational Center, Faruq Jamil KRG Minister of Justice, several PUK officials and cadres in Erbil City, during a ceremony in the hall of Martyrs of February the 1st in PUK Erbil Third Organizational Center the Cadres Institute was opened on July the 21st.

At first Dr. Arsalan Baiz talked about the importance of opening the institute, reminding the attendees the saying of President Jalal Talabani “The Unification of thought and arms to be your leading guide and pay attention to thought”.

During another part of his speech Dr. Arsalan Baiz pointed out the reasons for opening the institute in Erbil city: “Due to widening of PUK organizational, it was not able to prepare large numbers of cadres .Despite that Erbil is the capital of Kurdistan .Also currently all the political, cultural and governmental institutes are in Erbil, leading all the party institutes to be opened in there. Dr. Arsalan Baiz addressed the organizational centers around Erbil, Mosul, and Duhok to benefit from the institute and send their cadres and cooperate with the institute.

Also during his speech Baiz stated the importance of paying attention to culture and thought and strengthening them .he as well as pointed out the strategic agreement between PUK and PDK, declaring that until the end of the current month will be signed.

At the end of his speech Baiz described the importance of the next conference of PUK which is scheduled to be held at the end of 2007 or at the begging of next year.
