First parliamentary 2007 budget debate in
Iraqi Kurdistan region

Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan region (Iraq), --
Kurdistan parliament will hold on Tuesday a special
session, the first of its kind, to discuss the
region’s budget for the year 2007, a parliament
media source said on Monday.
In a statement the media consultant for the Speaker
of Kurdistan Parliament, Tariq Jawher, said “the
House will hold on
Tuesday, a special session, the first of its kind
since the House establishment in 1992, to discuss
the region’s budget
for the year 2007.”
He pointed out that the Kurdistan regional
government “receives its budget, which amounts to
17% of the Iraqi national
budget after its endorsment by the Iraqi government
in Baghdad.”
