Russian Consulate opens in Iraqi Kurdistan

Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan region (Iraq), (eKurd.net),
-- Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan region’s
government Omar Fattah received the new Russian
Consul in the capital of Erbil, Vaciv Garayiv.
The latter explained that the decision of opening
the consulate was directly taken between the Foreign
Ministry and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
For his part, the deputy Prime Minister welcomed the
opening of the Russian consulate, confirming his
government’s willingness to support the government
and help succeed the consulate’s work.
A Dutch consulate is going to
be opened in July 2007 in Kurdistan
region, following the inauguration of the consulate,
several projects will be implemented by the
consulate, an official from Kurdistan Regional
Government said in June 2007.
"We received an invitation from the elected Consul,
asking us to prepare a list of the necessary and
significant projects so as to be implemented," Dr.
Zerian Osman, the KRG Minister of Health said. |

The Kurdistan region government announced that
Greece had decided to open a
consulate in Kurdistan.
Iraqi Kurdistan government
to open 15 representations
abroad, The offices will be opened in
Germany, France, Sweden, Switzerland, the
Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and other countries
