Iran to establish trade chamber of cooperatives in
Iraqi Kurdistan

Sulaimaniyah, Kurdistan region (Iraq), --
Secretary General of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives
said on Wednesday that Tehran is to establish a
trade complex in Sulaimaniyah city, Kurdistan region
(Iraq).
Mohammad-Reza Ramezani made the remarks on the
sidelines of the summit of heads of chambers of
cooperatives in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province of
Iran, adding that thanks to establishing the
complex, the Islamic Republic will attain an
economic foothold in Kurdistan of Iraq.
"Coordination has been made to establish the trade
complex," he said, adding that a delegation from
Iran Chamber of Cooperatives is scheduled to visit
Kurdistan of Iraq to inaugurate it.
"We can expand economic relations with the Iraqi
province thanks to establishing the complex, and
obtain more active role there." Elsewhere in his
remarks, he referred to the establishment of such
complexes in Africa, saying that Iran and African
countries have meager exchanges, but the chamber is
to establish trade complexes in order to achieve its
goals in the continent.
Pointing to the current proper capacities and
talents in Africa, he said that the continent,
comprising 54 countries, can provide Iran with
grounds for expanding exports.
Ramezani referred to the appropriate political ties
between Iran and most of African countries, adding,
"We should pave the ground for more investment in
the countries."
The Chamber of Cooperatives and the Supreme Council
for Export have planned to hold 15 exhibitions by
the end of this year, he said.
