Sulaimaniyah, Kurdistan region (Iraq), -- Secretary General of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives said on Wednesday that Tehran is to establish a trade complex in Sulaimaniyah city, Kurdistan region (Iraq).

Mohammad-Reza Ramezani made the remarks on the sidelines of the summit of heads of chambers of cooperatives in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province of Iran, adding that thanks to establishing the complex, the Islamic Republic will attain an economic foothold in Kurdistan of Iraq.

"Coordination has been made to establish the trade complex," he said, adding that a delegation from Iran Chamber of Cooperatives is scheduled to visit Kurdistan of Iraq to inaugurate it.

"We can expand economic relations with the Iraqi province thanks to establishing the complex, and obtain more active role there." Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the establishment of such complexes in Africa, saying that Iran and African countries have meager exchanges, but the chamber is to establish trade complexes in order to achieve its goals in the continent.

Pointing to the current proper capacities and talents in Africa, he said that the continent, comprising 54 countries, can provide Iran with grounds for expanding exports.

Ramezani referred to the appropriate political ties between Iran and most of African countries, adding, "We should pave the ground for more investment in the countries."

The Chamber of Cooperatives and the Supreme Council for Export have planned to hold 15 exhibitions by the end of this year, he said.
