Netherlands to open consulate in Iraqi
Kurdistan region

Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan region (Iraq), -- A
Dutch consulate is going to be opened in July 2007
in Kurdistan region, following the inauguration of
the consulate, several projects will be implemented
by the consulate, an official from Kurdistan
Regional Government said.
"We received an invitation from the elected Consul,
asking us to prepare a list of the necessary and
significant projects so as to be implemented," Dr.
Zerian Osman, the KRG Minister of Health said.
Immediately after the opening of the Dutch
Consulate, the Consulate will start commencing
several projects at a cost of 46 million Euros. And,
these projects include the Health and Services
fields. |

"In the light of the invitation, we sent a message
to Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands, who
oversees these projects directly, asking for
assistance for Kurdistan region in the field of
health. And a list of necessary needs and
requirements has been prepared to be presented to
the Consulate so as they take action for the
projects," Dr. Othman
added.
The administration in
Kurdistan region (Iraq) recently announced that
Greece had decided to open a
consulate there.
On June 18, a Russian delegation held talks with Falah Mustafa Bakir,
director of foreign relations for the regional
government in autonomous Kurdistan region in
(northern Iraq) and discussed
Moscow's plans for opening a
consulate in the region.
Iraqi Kurdistan government
to open 15 representations
abroad, The offices will be opened in
Germany, France, Sweden, Switzerland, the
Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and other countries
