Iraqi Kurdistan government to open 15
representations abroad, on the sidelines of the Iraqi
embassies

Erbil, Kurdistan region (Iraq), -- Kurdistan
regional autonomous government in northern Iraq is
planning to open 15 representative offices abroad,
Anatolia news agency reported yesterday quoting
Kurdistan Patriotic Union's (PUK) Web site.
Felah Mustafa, foreign relations official of the
Kurdistan regional government, said the
representative offices will be on the
sidelines of the Iraqi
embassies or consulates but would also serve in
separate buildings if there will not be enough
places for them.
"We'll have offices in 15 different countries in
order to boost our economic relations and to attract
more foreign investment,” said Mustafa. |

The offices will be opened in Germany, France,
Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium,
Denmark and other countries, the report states.
Mustafa said that they have not yet discussed the
issue with the Iraqi Foreign Ministry but underlined
that the necessary documents were already submitted
to the prime ministry.
