Iraqi delegation in Iran for talks

Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister Dr Barham Salih
traveled to Tehran for a two-day visit heading a
senior Iraqi delegation.
Saleh is due to hold talks with senior Iranian
officials in order to implement a number of
commercial agreements and hold economic and
political talks with Iran.
Iraq’s delegation gathered Iraq’s national security
adviser Mowaffaq Al Rubaie, Electricity Minister
Karim Wahid and Higher Education and Scientific
Research Abd Dhiyab Al Ujaily along with the State’s
Minister for national security affairs and acting
Minister of Transportation Minister Sherwan Al Waili.
The delegation includes as well presidential chief
of staff Nasir Al Ani, Iraqi Kurdistan's ministers
of planning and electricity and Najaf governor Asaad
Abu Kalal. Saleh is expected to meet Iranian
President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad and senior Iranian
officials to discuss economic, political and
security issues. |

Earlier, Iran’s Foreign
Minister Manushaher Mottaki met the Iraqi delegation
to discuss land and maritime border issues and
measures to reopen consulates in each other's
country.
