Iraqi president Jalal Talabani arrives in
Sulaimaniyah from Tehran

Sulaimaniyah, Kurdistan region (Iraq), Jun
27, -- Iraqi President Jalal Talabani arrived in
Sulaimaniyah from a visit to the Iranian capital
Tehran, during which he discussed with his Iranian
counterpart ways to push forward bilateral
relations, a source from Sulaimaniyah airport said
on Wednesday.
"Talabani arrived at the airport on Wednesday at
2:00 pm. Iraq's Kurdistan’s Vice President Kosrat
Rasul Ali, member of the political office of the
Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Arsalan Bayez,
and a number of partisan and government
officials received the president," the director of
Sulaimaniyah Airport, Kamran Ahmed, said.
The Iraqi president arrived in Tehran on Tuesday
from China and discussed
with Iranian President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad ways to improve
relations between the two countries. |

Talabani also met with Iran's Supreme Leader
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and praised the historic
relations between the Iraqi and Iranian people.
On arriving in Tehran, the president visited the
residence of Leader of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi
Council (SIIC) Abdel Aziz al-Hakeem, who is also the
leader of the Unified Iraqi Coalition (UIC), to
check on his health. Talabani informed al-Hakeem of
the outcome of his visit to the People's Republic of
China and indicated that several agreements for
cooperation in different fields were signed
