Newsdesk, June 8, -- An official spokesman
for Pehmerga security Forces (Kurdistan national
gurad), Brigadier Jabar Yawir, evoked the
differences between Kurdistan region’s government
and the central government calling for reducing
Peshmerga troops from 190 000 to 90 000, which are
believed to be enough to control the region’s
security.
Yawir noted that current talks between the Central
Government and the multinational forces are
undergoing in aim to reach a final compromise not to
reduce the troops. He confirmed that the Peshmerga
Forces include currently 120 000 effective elements,
50 000 retired units and 30 000 reserve forces.
