Kurdistan: Two members of PUK killed, five
injured in accident near Erbil

Erbil, Kurdistan region (Iraq),-- A truck
collided on Monday night with a motorcade of a
senior figure from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
(PUK), killing two Kurdish party senior members and
injuring five others, a source from the PUK said.
"The accident took place in Beerdawood town near to
Erbil on the road to Makhmor, while Saadi Ahmed Bera,
a leading figure in PUK, and his companions were on
their way to visit families of Sunday's bombing
attack victims in Makhmor," the source, who asked
not to be named, said.
Makhmor district, was a scene of deadly car comb
explosion targeting the headquarters of the PUK that
left 32 people killed and 115 injured.
"The two dead men are Mulla Ibrahim and al-Sayied
Bakr," the source also said.
"Bera was not hurt. He made some check up and
returned home in Erbil," he explained.
"The accident is most likely done deliberately, "
the source added, noting that the truck driver was
arrested and is now being interrogated.
Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is led by Iraq's
President Jalal Talabani.
