Nechirvan Barzani, Iraqi Kurdistan prime
minister heads to Iran

Minister of Kurdistan region governor Nechirvan
Barzani headed on Saturday to Iran accompanying a
government delegation.
A source in the Iraqi government council in
Kurdistan region told KUNA his visit comes in
response to an invitation by Iran.
Barzani will discuss with Iranian officials the
latest developments on the ground in Iraq, and the
Kurdistan region in particular, the source added.
Barzani will also tackle issues such as Iranian
border infiltrations by terrorists to Iraqi
Kurdistan. |

The talks will also focus on recent surge of
activities by Ansar Al-Islam group through joint
borders of Iran and Iraq, the source added.
The talks are expected to be attended by Iranian
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
