Ahmet Türk, head of the pro-Kurdish Democratic
Society Party (DTP), accompanied by two senior
members of the party, met on Monday evening with
Iraq's President Jalal Talabani in Kurdistan region
(northern Iraq) village of Dokan, DTP officials in
Ankara told Today's Zaman on Tuesday.
Recalling that Talabani was hospitalized in late
February due to extreme exhaustion and dehydration,
DTP officials described the visit by Türk, Aysel
Tuğluk and Sırrı Sakık as a “delayed courtesy visit
to personally say 'get well soon',” to Talabani.
While DTP officials said they had no knowledge of
the content of talks between Talabani and the DTP
delegation, the Web site of Talabani's Patriotic
Union of Kurdistan (PUK) party reported from
Talabani's birth place, Dokan, that both Talabani
and the DTP focused on the need for resolution of
the Kurdish issue via dialogue based on mutual
understanding. |

a speedy recovery.
