Baghdada, Iraq, -- A Kurdish member of the
Iraqi parliament, Mahmoud Osman, has accused the US
of widespread interference in that country's
internal affairs.
Speaking Monday in Baghdad, Osman said the problems
of the Iraqi government stem from Washington's
interference in Iraq's internal affairs and the lack
of balanced relations between the US and the Iraqi
government.
He added that there are currently two states in Iraq
- Nuri al-Maliki's government and that of the US.
In further remarks, Osman urged the Iraqi government
to sign a deal with the Americans that would require
US officials to respect Iraq's sovereignty.
Osman is an Iraqi parliament member affiliated with
the Kurdish Coalition, Iraq's second-largest
parliamentary faction, which holds 54 seats out of
275 seats at the country's legislative body. |
