Narcissistic self-interest drives the Democrats
April 1, 2007
The recent vote by the Democratic-controlled New
Hampshire House on House Resolution 10 is the most
significant sign that the New Hampshire I have loved
is gone for the foreseeable future.
I served with C Co, 3-172 INF (MTN) in Iraq from
March 2004 to March 2005. I am still part of Charlie
Company today. Since leaving Iraq, I have been
engaged on a daily basis to rebuild Iraq and provide
internet communications to tens of thousands of U.S.
military personnel.
I returned from Iraq in late February. I spent four
weeks there on business. We are making significant
progress in Iraq every single day.
While there are areas of Iraq that will require
intense policing for the foreseeable future, there
are also areas that are growing and succeeding.
Kurdistan is a shining example of what is possible
in Iraq. The growth, optimism, security and success
in Erbil and Kurdistan are the best-kept secrets of
Iraq.
Of course, Democrats could care less about what is
really going on in Iraq. They are only interested in
defeating President Bush. They are not concerned
with the genocide that would occur throughout the
Middle East if the United States were to leave.
For people who are so concerned with civil liberties
and human rights, their desire to defeat Bush is in
stark conflict with their righteous political
ideology. Their actions and the actions of the
Democratic-controlled Congress this week can be
directly tied to recent spikes in terrorism in Iraq.
Their political statements will also cost American
servicemen and women their lives.
In the end their acts will do nothing to move the
situation forward to victory. It will only serve
their narcissistic self-interest.
