Prague, Czech Rep. ,--- Kurdish-born German
businessman Yekta Uzunoglu was today given a
two-year sentence with a five -year probation for
having blackmailed and tortured a foreigner and was
acquitted of charges of torturing another two
foreigners by the Czech court in Prague today.
Uzunoglu appealed the verdict so the City Court will
deal with his case that has been proceeded by Czech
courts for 12 years already.
The state attorney has also taken some time for
consideration.
The attorney said that the case was very complicated
and the Czech law enforcement bodies had not met
with a similar case so far. Both the accused and
victims were foreigners and the Czech judiciary had
to cooperate with the Turkish and German
authorities. |
