An agent belonging to the Kurdish separatist group
PEJAK Kurdish group was arrested in the Western
Azerbaijan Province of Iran (Kurdistan-Iran).
The suspect was arrested Sunday while videotaping a
military funeral precession in the northwestern city
of Khoy, Fars news agency reports.
PEJAK (Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan) , took up
arms for self-rule in the country's mainly Kurdistan
province northwestern of Iran. Half the members of
PEJAK are Kurdish women.
An informed source, speaking on conditions of
anonymity, said the arrested individual admitted to
being a member of PEJAK, a group affiliated with the
PKK.
The suspect reportedly admitted he filmed the
funeral to capture close images of military and law
enforcement personnel attending the ceremony.
The funeral was a commemoration for the members of
Iran's Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps killed
earlier in a helicopter crash in Iran's Western
Azerbaijan province.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards recently killed 17
members of PEJAK during clashes in northwestern Iran
near the Turkish mainly Kurdish area border.
The province has been the scene of a string of
deadly skirmishes between Iranian security forces
and members of Kurdish PEJAK.

More about Iranian Kurdistan
The present leader of the organisation is Haji
Ahmadi. According to the Washington Times, half the
members of PEJAK are women, many of them still in
their teens, and one of the female members of the
leadership council is Gulistan Dugan, a psychology
graduate from the University of Tehran. This is due
primarily to the fact that PJAK is strongly
supportive of women's rights. PJAK believes that
women must have a strong role in government and must
be on an equal level with men in leadership
positions.
