The Pentagon envoy apologize the Kurdish families

Sulaimaniyah, Kurdistan region (Iraq), -- A
high-level delegation from the U.S. Department of
Defense (Pentagon) colonel (Smid) presented on
Monday an official apology to the families of
Peshmerga fighters, who were killed or wounded last
month in a U.S. raid near to the northern Iraqi city
of Mosul, 402 km north of Baghdad, a source of
Iraq's Kurdistan region's Peshmerga said.
"The U.S. delegation said that the incident was a
mistake occurred because of lack of coordination
between U.S. and Kurdish forces on that particular
incident", the spokesman for Peshmerga fighters
Jabar Yawer said.
The commander of 21 of Khoshnaw brigade has said "We
have a long history with the American and we are
still coalition, but I hope never any other events
will be happen like this."
In addition of that, general (Jabar) official
speaker of Kurdistan region guard force has said
"that is great, that Pentagon envoy apology to the
relative of victims"
The U.S. warplanes
mistakenly struck a Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
PUK compound on Feb, 8 in Mosul city, leaving nine
Peshmerga (Kurdistan National Guards) elements
killed.
"The delegation presented an official apology to the
families of nine Peshmerga fighters and to the
Kurdish people as whole", he added.
A high-level delegation of U.S. Pentagon had arrived
here to Sulaimaniyah, in Iraq's Kurdistan to meet
families of Peshmerga fighters, who were killed or
injured in the U.S. raid.
The delegation paid $4,500 for each victim and 1,500
for each wounded, the official noted
