Sulaimaniyah…Various Activities in the Universal
Day of Human Rights
Dec. 10, in Sulaimaniyah, Human rights directorate
celebrated the Universal Day of Human Rights .in
this occasion the directorate held a photo
exhibition showing its activities in this day.
Books, folders and booklets browsing the a
activities in Human rights field were published,
cinema movies viewed about the former regime crimes
in attacking Hallabja by chemical weapons which
resulted in the death of thousands of Kurdish
people, in addition to other movies about Al-Anfal
crimes which led to the destruction of cities,
villages and the death of 182 thousand person which
was recorded as the most vicious crime and the most
dreadful act in violating Human rights.
The exhibition was opened by Mr. Jotyar Nouri, the
deputy of Sulaimaniyah governor, General Saiffaddin
Ali Ahmed, the security Director General in the city
and a number of officials and those who are
concerned with Human Rights organizations. It’s
mentioned that the place of holding this exhibition
is Amna Suraka (Red House) museum, was the security
office during the Saddam’s regime, and witnessed
arresting, torturing, and killing hundreds of Kurds.
Massoud Barzani: Any Decision on Article 140
should be made by KR People
The President of Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barzani,
received a delegation from USA headed by diplomat
David Piers.During the meeting, the issue of article
140 in Iraqi permanent constitution was discussed
and focused on the consequences of
non-implementation of the article which lead to many
injustices in the areas where the article is
supposed to be implemented.
The President reiterated that any decision on the
article should be made by the people of Kurdistan
region.
KRG Delegation to Visit US
It’s decided that a KRG Delegation consisting of Dr.
Ziryan Othman the Health Minister in KRG, Dr. Dindar
Zebari KRG representative in the UN, Dr. Sabah Tomah
the deputy of Plan Ministry in KRG, to visit US in
the next few days. About the aim of this visit, Dr.
Sabah Tomah, in an exclusive statement to PUKmedia
said “Discussing and signing an agreement with the
International Bank to build an emergency hospital in
Erbil.”
Dr. Sabah Tomah, also said, that the Delegation will
visit Boston city, to discuss the ways of strengthen
relations between Harvard University and the
universities in Kurdistan Region and allocating
scholarships for the Kurdish students in the above
mentioned University.
Arresting Terrorists near Himreen Mountain
Brigadier Sarhad Qadir, the chief of Districts
police in Kirkuk announced today that the security
forces stormed Wadi al-Khanazer area between
al-Riyadh and al-Rashad Counties, al-Hawija
District. In an exclusive statement to PUKmedia,
Brigadier Sarhad said that the campaign was in
cooperating between the directorate of Police
Districts in Kirkuk, the Iraqi Army and the
multi-national forces.
The campaign which started at 3:00 am and continued
for 6 hours resulted in seizing 5 pieces of weapon
and a car. He added that the campaign came after
assassinating the citizen Mijble Fadhel Saleem,
after accusing him by the terrorists to cooperate
with the Iraqi and the multi-national forces.
President Talabani Receives an American
Delegation
President Jalal Talabani, in the presence of Deputy
PM Dr. Barham Salih received yesterday in his
residence in Baghdad Mr. Robin Jeffry, U.S. deputy
Secretary of State for economy, agriculture and
energy affairs and his accompanied delegation.They
discussed the latest developments on the security,
economy and service fields. Also they discussed the
problems between the Federal and Kurdistan Region
governments, especially the oil law and the way of
dealing with oil resources.They also emphasized the
necessity of developing the bilateral relations
between Iraq and U.S., and the best ways to develop
the economy, agriculture and oil fields in Iraq. Mr.
Jeffery emphasized the necessity of making use of
the security improvement in Iraq to develop the
living level for the
Iraqi citizens.
Flights between Sweden and Kurdistan to be
Resumed
Tahir al-Hawrami, the manager of Erbil International
Airport said “the Swedish Civilian Aviation
Authorities has decided to resume the flights
between Sweden and Kurdistan cities after stopping
it since August.” “The Swedish authorities decision
to stop the flights came after the claims of one of
the Swedish pilots to see a light looks like a
rocket heading towards his plane”, Hawrami added.
It’s worth mentioning that Sulaimaniyah Airport
administration has issued a clarifying statement
which said that the light which had been seen by the
pilot was a light used by the hunters to light the
area. Hawrami also said “the flights are going to
start next week, with two flights a week, and as it
was before taking the decision to stop the flights
since last August.”
Jalawla... Explosion in a PUK Member House
On Sunday, a bomb was exploded inside the house of a
member of Jalawla PUK organization center. In an
exclusive statement to PUKmedia, the head of Jalawla
PUK organization center, said that a bomb set in Mr.
Abdul Wahab Mustafa, house, in Ashti neighborhood
was exploded.
The explosion resulted in injuring of 3members of
his family, 2 of them are women, he also said that
the explosion caused a tremendous damage to the PUK
member house and the neighbor houses.
