London, Azad Kurdi, (ekurd.net), --
Despite recurring assurances from Washington to
shield us against any emerging threat, it is prudent
for our government to not hinge on US uncertain
pledges. Our cooperation with the United states in
numerous aspects has corroborated counterproductive
and is severely undermining our national
credibility. The recent Turkish unjustified
invasions are enough to substantiate this claim. The
US has shifted its position and is now taking the
side of aggressors.
From the very inception, the US administration's
intention was clear. The US is not in Iraq to assist
the Kurds. The US is pursuing its own hidden agenda.
This is an inarguable fact. The US has repeatedly
asserted that it is opposed to Kurdish national
independence. That such an action would be followed
by counteraction and it is definitely not in keeping
with its interests.
With no regard to KRG's view, the US has consciously
granted Turkey the green light to breach our
sovereignty and territorial integrity. Turkish air
force has been pounding Kurdistan almost on a daily
basis.
Our Peshmarga forces are deployed to the most
insecure places in Iraq to sacrifice their dear
lives on the authority of Arab Iraq. The US is
bullying us to enter into an involuntary conflict
with PKK Kurdish fellow-citizens, as well. Despite
knowing all these facts,www.ekurd.net
Kurdistan Regional
Government KRG continues to contradict them and
bluntly delude the general public.
The dramatic US leverage in KRG's policies and it
much behind-the-scenes involvement in our internal
and external affairs is also climaxing to a
disconcerting scale. KRG has mislaid its self-belief
and does not hold any lawmaking and administrative
authority. It is nothing more than a proxy
bureaucracy heavily dependent on US funds and only
enforces directives issued from Pentagon. The
provision of billions of dollars in grants annually
to KRG are conditional on meeting US requirements.
KRG should maintain its ability to operate
independently and not give in to US pressure. It is
Kurdistan regional government, not US regional
government. It should only act taking into
consideration the good of the vast majority of its
own citizens.
