President Barzani returns to Kurdistan
after Europe visit

Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan Region 'Iraq',--
Iraqi Kurdistan officials said on Friday that
Kurdistan region president Massoud Barzani has
returned to Erbil, the Iraqi Kurdistan's capital in
'northern Iraq' after a several days' visit abroad,
head of Barazani's office said.
Fouad Hussein, a senior official at the regional
Iraqi Kurdistan administration, said Barzani would
hold a press conference later on Friday, the
Anatolia news agency reported.
"Barzani arrived in Erbil this afternoon and will
resume his work on Saturday," Fouad Hussein told the
reporters.
Media speculation about Barzani's whereabouts
appeared in Turkish newspapers after Barzani left
Kurdistan 'northern Iraq' for what Iraqi Kurdish
officials said was a "private visit."
Last week Hussein denied Barzani was on a European
tour for treatment after an alleged assassination
attempt. |

Some reports said he survived an assassination
attempt and was being treated in a foreign country
while others alleged that he took two leaders of the
Turkey's outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) to
Italy in order to have them extradited to Turkey.
All claims have been denied by Iraqi Kurdistan
officials.
Kurdistan Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani on
Thursday denied the news about an assassination
attempt against Kurdistan Region President Mr.
Massoud Barzani,www.ekurd.net
and emphasized that
these news are not true and that the President’s
health is very well.
In a statement to al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper, PM
said “Mr. President has left the region for
treatment, and exactly teeth examinations. This is
the first time for him to travel outside the country
for personal matter. He is in good health right now
and will return soon to Kurdistan. We make daily
contacts with him.”
“I repeat, these news are incorrect, and it is only
propagandas made by the Kurdish people enemies.
There is no doubt that the President is an
unordinary personal, and any attempt of this kind
cannot be hidden but we hurried in announcing it.www.ekurd.net
I hope that my statement
will end these rumours”, PM added.
PUK media reported earlier that president Barzani
was in Austria.
