Mosul: Suicide bomber targets Kurdistan

At least one civilian was killed and five more were
injured on Thursday morning when a suicide bomber
detonated a car rigged with explosives near a
Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) office north of
Mosul, a police source said.
"A suicide bomber blew up a car crammed with
explosives, this morning, targeting the headquarters
of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the
Christian-dominant Talsaqaf district, killing a
woman and injuring five," the source, who asked not
to be named, said.
"The wounded were rushed to Duhok public hospital,"
he explained.
A medical source from the hospital said that two of
the wounded were in critical condition.
This is the second attack against the offices of the
Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani's KDP in the
same district in seven months as a bombing attack
near the same office in last April killed seven and
wounded over 39. www.ekurd.net
On Wednesday, a
suicide bomber
detonated a booby-trapped car targeting the
headquarters of the KDP in the nothern Iraqi Kurdish
city of Kirkuk, wounding 17.
Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, lies 405 km north
of Baghdad.
