project to GNSS and Emirates Computers based on our
expertise and best-of-breed solutions that we
offered."
"We offered the best secured solution for the
Kurdistan Regional Government which included a
matrix of options by industry leading manufacturers
of smart ID Cards, personalization printers,
software and other peripherals. The various
principals involved in this project are Microsoft,

The ID card issuance and management system,
developed by Emirates Computers/ Hylerlink SDC
(Solution Development Centre), is based on Microsoft
.NET platform and MS SQL Server is used as the back
end for the database development.
DELL offered the hardware components and Cisco
provided the components for the Network solution.
FARGO custom designed smart ID cards, the card
printing and finger print peripherals and Labcal
supplied the handheld mobile reader and card
validation device to read the cards for quality
assurance at the issuing sites. Eventually these
readers will be used at the sites where the KRG
Government employees are working for identity
validation.
"The solution will be deployed at various locations
across the Kurdistan region in order to enroll all
KRG Government employees. The smart cards will be
personalized at the central site in Erbil. The
employee enrolling process is targeted to start by
the end of Feb, 2008," said Botan Osman, Director
General of Information Technology of KRG. www.ekurd.net
