The presidency of Iraq's Kurdistan region on Friday
denied that President of Kurdistan autonomous region
Masoud Barazani was the target of an assassination
attempt.
"The President left the region on Thursday on a
private visit abroad that had nothing to do with the
alleged attempt on his life or treatment," the
Spokesman for the presidency Foad Hussein said in a
statement.
Some Iraqi news media had reported that Barazani had
survived an assassination attempt and traveled
abroad for treatment. www.ekurd.net
In his statement, Hussein made it clear that the
news was groundless. |
