LONDON, UK, -- A man is due to appear in
court on Saturday charged with the murder of Banaz
Mahmod, whose body was found in a suitcase beneath a
house in Birmingham, police said.
Banaz Mahmod, a 20-year-old Kurd from south London,
died in a so-called honour killing in April 2006.
The body of Banaz, from Mitcham was found buried in
a suitcase in a garden in Birmingham.
The 20-year-old Banaz
was raped and garrotted during
an ordeal lasting more than 2-1/2 hours at her
family home in south London last year.
Her father, Mahmod Mahmod, 52, and her uncle Ari
Mahmod, 51, were jailed for at least 20 years and 23
years after being found guilty of her murder in
June. |
