Mosul: Bombing targets Kurdish PUK's
office, wounds four peshmergas

At least eight people, including four Kurdish
Peshmerga fighters, were wounded on Thursday as a
truck crammed with explosives detonated near a
Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's office in Mosul, a
police source said.
"A truck crammed with explosives detonated, this
afternoon, near a Peshmerga fighters' checkpoint
outside the office of the Patriotic Union of
Kurdistan in eastern Mosul," Brigadier Abdul Karim
al-Juburi, Ninewa police operation director, said.
The source added, "the explosion wounded eight
people, including four Peshmerga fighters, destroyed
the building and set 25 cars ablaze."
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is led by
Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.
On Wednesday, also in Mosul a suicide bombing
targeted a Kurdistan
Democratic Party (KDP) office, left
two dead and 16 wounded.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is headed by
the President of Iraq's Kurdistan region Massoud
Barzani.
Mosul, a predominantly Sunni city, is 402 km north
of Baghdad.
