Duhok, Kurdistan region 'Iraq', -- Turkish
forces shelled cross-border regions in Kurdistan's
province of Duhok, an official source from the
border guard forces in the province said on
Saturday.
"Turkish artillery fired four missiles at regions
near Deshta Takh village, but no casualties were
reported," the source, who asked his name not be
mentioned, said.
"Our village is being constantly and unjustifiably
bombed by Turkish artillery," Badri Sanati, a
40-year-old local resident, said, indicating that
the shelling caused great damage to orchards and
agricultural land.
Deshta Takh village lies 1 km from the Iraqi
Kurdistan-Turkish borders and is inhabited by 24
Christian families, whereas Duhok, the third
province within Iraq's Kurdistan region, is located
460 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
