Ankara, -- Turkey has failed to give
permission to private German charter airline Hamburg
International to allow flights flying under the name
Zagros Air to
cross Turkish air space on their way to the capital
of Kurdistan region, Erbil in 'northern Iraq'.

Authorities from Hamburg International did confirm
that the flights, set to leave from Frankfurt and
Munich in early October, had been cancelled, though
they declined to give detailed information on the
reasons.
Meanwhile, authorities in Ankara confirmed also that
permission had not been
given for the flights, stating that the reason was
that in the past, the same flight run by Hamburg
International had been announced as Kurdistan
Airlines in the German airports from which it was
taking off, and that for this reason, the decision
had been made not to grant access to Turkish air
space this time around.
