party headquarters in nearby Siirt province.
Provincial Chairman Murat Avci was also among those

After the detained politicians were taken to the

remanded to prison accused of aiding the Kurdistan

The raid was conducted after a hunger strike was
launched at the Siirt DTP headquarters in protest of
a 20-day cell confinement penalty imposed on PKK's
imprisoned leader Abdullah Ocalan who is being held
at a special military prison on Imrali Island.
Searching the premises for approximately 5 hours,
police seized a number of books and documents
alongside placards and posters. The 11 DTP
