Salih Al-Mutlaq called all Iraqi citizens to hoist the Iraqi flag 11.9.2006

Baghdad, September 11, -- After meeting with prominent Political and Tribal figures, Head of National Dialogue Council Salih Al-Mutlaq called all Iraqi citizens without exception to hoist the flag of their country high on their home roofs and above their stores and cars as a symbol of Dignity.

The Participants in the meeting extended their support to Al-Motlaq’s stance and demanded Kurdistan’s Leader to take back his decision of lowering the Iraqi flag.

In the opening of the preliminary meeting set up to put in place a new partnership between Iraq and the International Community, Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih called, in the presence of representatives of Donor States, United Nations and European Union, international states to come in the support of his country.

He feared Iraq would witness a disaster if reestablishing peace and security in Baghdad fails. He noted out that the future of the Middle East region highly depends on the future of Iraq.

This meeting is an attempt for Barham Saleh and other ministers to convince the International Community of backing Iraq to improve its weak economic growth due to the country’s insecurity
