Press Release
This is a historic day to see Saddam and six of his
assistants who masterminded the use of chemical
weapons and Anfal operations against the Kurdish
people during 1980’s are facing judgment.
The long waiting for the victims of Halabja and
infamous Anfal operations against the Kurds is over.
The witnesses are lining up to give their testimony
of what happened to them and how Saddam shattered
their peaceful lives forever.
Let the whole world listen to the tragedy and crimes
committed against the Kurds while some kept their
silence and others continued supporting Saddam’s
regime.
Saddam Hussein and those who helped him in obtaining
weapons of mass destruction and later took no notice
that such weapons were used against the Kurds shall
bear responsibility for what happened to the people
of Halabja.
The Kurdish National Congress of North America is
asking the United States, and the international
community to take all measures necessary to prevent
the proliferation and more importantly the use of
weapons of mass destruction ever again.
The capability of regimes and terrorist
organizations that continue to threaten the world at
large with weapons of mass destruction should be
eliminated, and their desire to rebuild or acquire
such weapons brought to an end once for all.
We are asking the United Nations and the entire
world communities to assure that justice will
prevail.
The countries and companies that helped Saddam’s
regime to build chemical weapons should be brought
to international world tribune court; they should
compensate for the damages they inflected on the
Kurdish families and help them rebuild their
devastated land.
