Tahir Hawrami appointed as
chairman of Erbil International Airport
Tahir Nadir Hewrami, who was adviser at the Diwan of
the Council of Ministers, has been appointed as
chairman of Erbil International Airport. Zaid Mohsin
Zwain, the former General Manager of the airport,
becomes the airport’s Deputy Chairman, according to
a decision by Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani on 23
July.
Jamal Abdullah Arif starts
work as media secretary
Jamal Abdullah Arif starts work as the Deputy Prime
Minister’s Media Secretary, according to a decision
by Deputy Prime Minister Omer Fattah on 2 August.
Steps toward unifying four
KRG ministries
The four ministries for the interior, finance &
economy, Peshmerga affairs and justice have come
under pressure to unify their administrations by the
end of this year, in a letter from Deputy Prime
Minister Omer Fattah on 3 August.
Re-arranging some districts
and sub-districts in the Kurdistan Region
As a result of the unification of the Kurdistan
Regional Government, the following changes will be
made to some districts and sub-districts, according
to a decision by acting Prime Minister Omer Fattah
on 6 August.
- Dissolving the Sulaimaniyah Governorate
representative office and all its departments in
Erbil.
- Dissolving the Erbil Governorate representative
office in Koya.
- Attaching Koya District and its sub-districts (Taq-Taq,
Ashty, Segirdkan, Sektan and Shoresh) to Erbil
Governorate.
- Returning Balisan Sub-district to Shaqlawa
District.
- Returning those sub-districts that were
geographically and administratively a part of Erbil
in 1994 back to Erbil Governorate.
- Dissolving the Sulaimaniyah administration’s
representative offices in the following districts
and sub-districts in Erbil: Central Erbil, Shaqlawa,
Soran and Choman districts; and Khoshnaw, Hiran,
Khalifan, Rawanduz, Gelala and Shoresh
sub-districts.
- Officials of these dissolved departments are free
to choose where they wish to work.
- All equipment will be left with the authority
where the departments were located.
- All of the accounting departments of the dissolved
offices will be closed.
- All the heads of the dissolved departments will
now be transferred to the staff of the Ministry for
the Interior, which will help them to find suitable
positions.
