Barzani presents plan to overcome fuel and electricity crisis 14.8.2006 

 






Erbil, Kurdistan-Iraq, August 14,-- Iraqi Kurdistan region president Masoud Barzani announced a six point plan to stabilize the crises of fuel and electricity shortages and the climb of prices.

As fuel crisis worsened in Kurdistan Region last week, Kurdish President Masoud Barzani presented a plan to overcome the crisis that is being described as severest since the 1990s.

In a meeting with both KDP & PUK politburos Barzani announced a six point plan to stabilize the crises of fuel and electricity shortages and the climb of prices.

The Barzani's Plan
1- Distributing and supervising the received fuel fairly without any private shares.

2- Organizing the fuel which is received from the central government.
3- Being prepared to cooperate with Iraqi Government to control the main highway between Beji and Kirkuk in order to protect the oil refineries and oil transportation roads.

4- Forming special committees to monitor the prices in the markets as well as the houses rentals.

5- Joint delegation from Kurdistan parliament and the government to visit areas and to oversee the crises and find suitable solutions.
6- Encouraging the businessmen to bring fuel into Kurdistan and deliver it to the government for distribution among the people.
