Erbil,
Kurdistan-Iraq, August 11, (KUNA) -- The President
of Iraqi Kurdistan Region Massoud Barazani said
Friday that it is impossible for a central
government to be in charge of affairs of all Iraqis
effectively.
He told the press that the future of Iraq lies in a
federal or con-federal ruling and added that the
Kurdistan region wants peace and stability to reach
the corners of Iraq.
"If complete stability did not settle in the country
then Kurdistan will not allow this instability to
reach its region," stated Barzani.
Barzani commented on the possibility of a civil war
in Iraq, saying "The Kurdistan is against such a
thing but if the war is to take place then the Kurds
will not participate in it". |

"The US withdrawal from the country will prove a
disaster," said the Kurdish official who added that
such an event will have its negative effects on
American interests in the Mideast. The US must carry
out the withdrawal as soon as democratic powers have
complete control on the Iraq situation.
Barzani said the regional intervention on Iraq's
internal affairs will not contribute to the security
of the country.
"It is one of the reasons why Iraq is still under
tremendous tension," concluded Barzani.
