Erbil, Sulaimaniyahh, Duhok, Kurdistan-Iraq, 25 July

President Barzani visits Halabja

Within the framework of his visit to Sulaimaniyah city, President Barzani paid a visit to Halabja, known to many as martyr town, visiting the cemetery of the martyrs created by chemical weapons attacks.

The families of martyrs and representatives of political parties and government institutions received President Barzani, he then recited the verse of Al Fatiha in respect to the souls of martyrs and was welcomed by the people of Halabja and its suburbs.

President Barzani said, “My visit to Halabja is my tesament to the martyrs, we are here to listen to the demands of the people of Halabja and its suburbs as well as to find solutions to overcome their problems,” of the reasons behind his visit.

Kosrat Rasoul, Deputy President of Kurdistan Region and The deputy secretary general of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan accompanied President Barzani on his visit.

Ambassador of Czech visits Ministry of Municipality

A delegation from the Czech Embassy headed by Peter Fout, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Iraq paid a visit to the Ministry of Municipality of the Kurdistan Region and was received by Nazanin Mohammad, the Minister of Municipality.

During the meeting, the Minister of Municipality applauded the role of the Czech Republic in the reconstruction of Iraq and Kurdistan and hoped that Czech companies can participate in the construction of the Kurdistan Region allowed by the stability and Security in the region, and confirmed that the Ministry would fully support them.

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic expressed his happiness at the warmreception he received and voiced his country's readiness to send companiesto the region to participate in the reconstruction process.

Madhi Mandelawi, Acting Minster of Culture for Kurdistan expressed his happiness at the visit of the delegation and regarded it as a good means of assessing the situations and the developments within Kurdistan and also as a great opportunity for the people of to show their Kurdistan gratification to the Czech Republic.

Municipality of Chamchamal

Nichrvan Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region received the Mayor and Chairman of the Municipality of Chamchamal along with members of branch 19 of the K.D.P and Center 15 of the P.U.K.

The aim of the visit was to deliver a list of demands from the people of Chamchamal to the Prime Minister; Mr. Barzani thanked the delegation, which came as a team from Chamchamal, expressing his willingness to consider the suggestions of the delegation.

In a speech, the Prime Minister stressed that the current era is a political one, and governing the people requires the making of many tough decisions, however the Prime Minister promised to prioritize their demands as much as possible as the people of Chamchamal and its suburbs were clear victims of the Anfal Campaign.

The Prime Minister promised to form committees to overcome the crises of Chamchamal and its suburbs.
