Car bomb at checkpoint on Dahuk-Mosul
road, four Peshmerga were killed

Dahuk, Kurdistan-Iraq, July 31, – Four Kurdish
Peshmerga fighters were killed and 10 wounded on
Monday when a car bomb driven by suicide attacker
went off at a checkpoint on Dahuk-Mosul road, on the
boarder with the Arab part of Iraq.
“There were 14 Peshmerga fighters at the checkpoint,
25 km north of Mosul, when an explosive-rigged car
driven by a suicide bomber went off,” said Akram
Saeed Hamed, commander of the force, who was also
wounded in the attack.
The wounded were taken to hospital and they are in a
stable condition, Hamed Siad.
The source added that the explosion is the first of
its kind in the area and added that it occurred in a
nearby Peshmergas military base in Kurdistan.
