Announcement of formation a unified Appeal Court in Kurdistan ‎Region 31.7.2006 

 





Erbil, Kurdistan-Iraq, -- Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region has declared ‎the formation of ‎unified Appeal Court in Kurdistan Region in the ‎presence of his Deputy, Omer Fattah, ‎and Deputy to the Speaker of ‎Kurdistan parliament, judges and officials.‎

The Prime Minister reiterated that the decision of this body was signed ‎by the ‎President of Kurdistan Region which is considered another step ‎of unifying the ‎institutions of Kurdistan Government.

In accordance ‎with the Constitution, Kurdistan ‎Region has a full right to posses its ‎authorities. Also the Prime Minister stressed on ‎the independency of ‎Judicial system.‎

The Chief of the Appeal Court, Salah Ya’qoubi vowed that himself and ‎his colleagues ‎shall work to prevail law.‎

In an answer to a question, the Prime Minister clarified that the Chief ‎and the ‎members of Appeal Court shall try hard to prevail law and ‎independency of judicial ‎system shall be their priority.‎

It is worth mentioning that the Appeal Court consists of chief and 14 ‎members.
