In a
meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani,
Kurdistan Regional Government Coordinator to the
United Nations Dindar Zebari conferred on the series
of efforts exerted by the UN in Kurdistan Region.
Highlighting his activities as Coordinator to the UN
in Kurdistan, Zebari explained the measures he has
taken in attempts to strengthen ties between the
Kurdish Region and the international organizations
present in the area.
He also talked about solidifying the status of the
region on the international level and the effective
role the region plays in dealing with the activities
of the UN in all aspects and its missions.
Moreover, Zebari stressed on the recent announcement
by the United Nations in which it recognizes the
unified Kurdistan Regional Government officially.
After the warm welcome of Zebari by the Iraqi
president, Talabani also renewed his full and
continuous support to the KRG official and regarded
the efforts he has made as significantly important
for helping the people of the region and to the
development of Kurdistan at large.
