Sulaimaniyah, Kurdistan-Iraq, -- A police
directorate for the protection of civil activities
has been declared open, reported PUKMedia.
It will take responsibility for protecting
demonstrators and those partaking in strike action
in Kurdistan. The police directorate of protecting
civil activities opened in Sulaimaniyah, employing
450 officers fully equipped to undertake all
activities that fall under their jurisdiction as of
May 28.
The occasion was marked by the interior minister
Osmani Haji Mahmud inaugurating the directorate and
declaring that the establishing of this directorate
should serve to indicate that the Kurdistan Regional
Government wants to open their offices to more
modern standards of practice.
According to the directorate’s duties and goals, the
minister stated, “the duty of this directorate is to
prevent the problems that happen during the
demonstrations, and by this forces not only prevent,
but also has the duty of controlling the situation,”
also he ensured the complete protection of their all
relevant rights.
The office of The Police Directorate of Protecting
Civil Activities, Major Luqman reported to the
“Kurdistan new” plans open directorates of this sort
in all the cities, districts and sub districts;
their duties will be on the basis of human rights
and the successful interaction with the populous,
