Kirkuk, Kurdistan-Iraq, June 8, (eKurd.Net), -- Mr. Abdul Rahim Mustafa, the governor of the oil rich Kurdish city of Kirkuk met today, Thursday evening with a delegation headed by the chairman of the Dutch Peace Council, Mr. Mient Jan Faber, where they were to discuss the situation in the city and ways of boosting cooperation between the two sides in various fields.

An official source in the governorate of Kirkuk said "we discussed several issues relating to the reality of the city like services, security and the suffering of the deportees returning to their areas, because of the lack of services provided to them, as a result of the neglect of governments that followed the fall of the former Saddam regime."

The source pointed out that "the governor of Kirkuk highlighted the stability of security in the city compared with the rest of the Iraqi cities, and security plans adopted by the government of Kirkuk in coordination with the security services of local and coalition forces, which enhanced the security and stability of the city."
