Kirkuk, Kurdistan-Iraq, June 8, (eKurd.Net), --
Mr. Abdul Rahim Mustafa, the governor of the oil
rich Kurdish city of Kirkuk met today, Thursday
evening with a delegation headed by the chairman of
the Dutch Peace Council, Mr. Mient Jan Faber, where
they were to discuss the situation in the city and
ways of boosting cooperation between the two sides
in various fields.
An official source in the governorate of Kirkuk said
"we discussed several issues relating to the reality
of the city like services, security and the
suffering of the deportees returning to their areas,
because of the lack of services provided to them, as
a result of the neglect of governments that followed
the fall of the former Saddam regime."
The source pointed out that "the governor of Kirkuk
highlighted the stability of security in the city
compared with the rest of the Iraqi cities, and
security plans adopted by the government of Kirkuk
in coordination with the security services of local
and coalition forces, which enhanced the
security and stability of the city." |
