in these days , every where you go
people are busy with watching world cup games and you usually see
people shout in happiness or cry in sadness for their national
team’s win or loss ,in these days my friends often ask me “Who are
you rooting for ?” it is very hard question to answer , so I usually
try to hide myself and not answer such a question ,… have you ever
wondered who the 40 million Kurds without a country , would root for
in world cup games ? it is a sad fact , that there is no football
team representing Kurdistan , because Kurdistan is divided among 6
countries . if you want to know how a Kurd would follow the games
please read this post .
I myself didn’t have any interest to watch the games , as there is
no team for me until I hear some Kurds are going to wave Kurdistan
flag on some games… the flag which waving it can have Death sentence
for Kurds in their native countries. Saudi Arabia and Tunis game
started , I rush to watch the game .
unlike any other person who is watching the game ,I am not looking
at the ball or at the players , I am just searching among spectators
and at the stadium, searching for something which makes me proud of
my nation. the camera gets closer to the ball and the player I get
angry !!! what is the aim of showing ball and the players ? common
show me that precious flag . |

ok now the Tunis player shoots toward the Saudi Arabia’s goal ,WOW
MY ….I finally saw it. RED , WHITE , GREEN , with a beautiful sun in
the middle , thats Kurdistan Flag that the whole world can see it !
Hooray ! I shout and I call all my friends to watch the game ,
[actually watch the flag not the game], now I become a fan of Tunis.
I hope Tunis continue shooting toward Saudi Arabia’s goal so I can
see the flag more.
the first half ends, and in the second half the two team switch
their places , now I am fan of Saudi Arabia , and I hope it attack
on the Tunis Goal , so I see the flag again. you may not believe
that I don’t even know the result of the game until this minute, I
have been looking just at the specters instead of the ball or
players … he he the Iranian TV hasn’t yet noticed that there is a
forbidden flag on their own TV , now the Saudi Arabia player Sami al
Jaber, hits a goal ! and now the camera is supposed to be show the
replay from different views…
yeah finally the Iranian TV noticed the flag and censored it (they
usually play a recorded part of the game when there is something
that they think they should censor like a Sexy lady among spectors
or in this case a Kurdish flag) even though after the Sami Jaber’s
goal the game became more hot and interesting for the people , but
the game becomes boring for me.
There is no interest for me and many other Kurds who I called them
to watch the game. I just can hope one day , we 40 million Kurds
like many other nations ,have a football team which can have the
chance to represent us in the world cup games , so we too like every
other nation have something to watch and to follow in these days.
