"Iraqi Kurdish Weekly Says Leadership
Better Leave Baghdad, Return to Kurdistan
Unattributed commentary: "Three years in Baghdad and a ruined
country"

After three years of the Kurdish leaders' presence in Baghdad and
their logistic, cognitive and political contribution to the
reconstruction of the state of Iraq, regrettably there is no hope
for a solution for the Kurdish issue within Iraq.
Following the collapse of Saddam's regime, the Kurdistan (Region)
leadership tried sincerely to pass on the Kurdistan Region's
experience to Baghdad and to provide humanitarian and political
assistance. This is in order to build post Saddam Iraq. By playing
this positive role this The Kurdish leadership have amazed rivals
and friends.
But it is time to wonder:
We, as Kurds, are not going to discuss the normalization of the
Arabized areas and the revenue yet, but we can ask how do Arabic
forces see the Kurdish participation in the political process in
Baghdad? How do we deal with them three years after the fall of the
dictatorship?
Although the president is a Kurd and there are many Kurds in the
federal government, nothing solid has been done for the Kurdish
regarding the Kurdish involvement in the foreign policies. There is
lack of real cooperation and trust.
The former Iraqi (government's) policies were planned, Bath's
policies were clear and the actors were known. Regrettably, in the
name of democracy, current (Arab) officials tell hundreds of lies
and use tricks with Kurdish officials every day. Above all, we have
sent our prominent figures to the hell of Iraq and they are at risk
due to the lack of security.
Now, it is clear for the US, Europe and their opponents in the
region that the Kurds in Iraq believe in democracy and do not
represent any threat to anyone. Our neighboring countries are
changing their foreign policies and we have always helped them in
that and will continue to assist them for democratization.
Today more than any time in the past, Kurds have a united stance. We
have a strong leadership and powerful government in Kurdistan. Our
people out side Kurdistan are supporting the political leadership
more. It is time to work genuinely and strongly to build our own
state and to employ all our resorts to build a pleasant and peaceful
society?
After three years of journeys to Baghdad, we are certain that nobody
is ready to recognize the issue of the displaced Kurds and mass
graves; no one is happy to have a Kurdish president; nobody accepts
for Kurdistan to have a president and nobody accepts a Kurdish
symbol on the Iraqi passport or the Iraqi currency.
Because of all these questions and hundreds more by our miserable
people, it would be better for us to leave Baghdad and the
government of the Green Zone and return to Kurdistan.
