ERBIL, Kurdistan-Iraq, June 1
(KUNA) -- A Kurdish lawmaker said Thursday the Kurds were keen to
cement relations with the League of Arab nations.
"We are looking forward to develop our dialogue and relations with
the Arab League, which plays an important role in the Middle East,"
Adnan Al-Mufti, speaker of the National Council of Kurdistan Iraq,
told KUNA.
Mutfi, who met Arab League ambassador to Iraq Mukhtar Lemani, said
Kurdistan sought to bring about success to the League's sponsorship
of the Iraqi national conciliation conference, due in Baghdad on
June 20-22.
He cited the Arab League secretary general Amr Moussa's visit to
Kurdistan and said the visit was a proof that the League's policy
towards Kurdistan has changed.
