In Turkey the Kurdish question have come
up again forcefully, with the strong popular revolts in Diyarbakir
capital of Kurdistan - that in Kurdish is called Amed – and in other
Kurdistan’s cities of Turkey.
And, as usual, the Turkey army’s reaction has been a violent
repression toward Kurdish masses that always have protested for
their rights pacifi-cally.
The Government of Recep Tayyp Erdogan and the military institutions
that stay behind it pretend not seeing the enormous change happened
in the country that have brought the Kurdistan of Iraq to enjoy the
really rights in a federal union with Arabs of Iraq, after endless
sufferings In the plan of a modern and democratic Iraq, in which all
international community has invested (in the lead United States and
Great Britain), Kurdish have to play a fundamental role because
Turkey is not between the people who have bet on this project
anymore, and on the contrary is one of its major opponents, as it is
well known.
Turkey should give up to his authoritarian and repressive attitude
against Kurdish population, that could create new tragedies.
Countries like Turkey and Iran must know that Kurdish question has
stopped being a home business of the countries where Kurds live.
Kurdish question concerns a population with more of 40 millions of
people who live in a historical country extended for more of 500.00
square km. In the third millennium, according with what logic these
countries continue to deny the population’s rights like Kurds so
rooted in the history and in the geography of the region? Till when
they will call among them to come to an agreement against the Kurds?
In fact, the last appeal had been done from the Iranian ambassador
in Ankara, Firuz Devletabadi, to Turkey and Syria to cooperate with
Iran in order to prevent the birth of a Kurdish State in the area.
It’s an appeal absolutely short-sighted, revealing a narrow mind
that do not understand that Kurds, at this point, are not the
predestinate victims of those countries politics anymore.
On the contrary the Kurds, primarily through Iraqi experience, have
demonstrated to be an element of renovation and stability and they
are the first to be interested in the democratization of the region.
